Shalom/Hello World

Shalom!

(Shalom is Hebrew for Hello, Goodbye and Peace!)
In this case, Hello, my name is Shelly!
Welcome to my blog.
Yes, it's true, Teaching Israeli Cool! Haha get it?

Here you will find my new journey through teaching in Israel.
I moved here about two months ago to participate on a program called Masa Israel Teaching Fellows!
I am teaching many wonderful pupils (students are called pupils in Israel).
The grades I teach range from 3rd to 6th grade.

While teaching, I am taking courses to obtain a Teaching Certification in Israel.
This blog is for my Language Skills through ICT class.
I am excited about this class because within this ever changing world, technology has made a huge imprint on people, especially those who are currently growing up with it around them 24/7. Although technology may seem scary and new for some, I think it can actually be a huge plus within the classroom. You can use it to broaden student's perspectives or relate to them with information and videos in ways that would be harder to achieve without the use of technology. I am excited to learn more and expand my personal perspectives during the course of this class.
I will be sharing these new found personal perspectives, along with reasons Teaching Israeli Cool.

Thanks for reading (and hopefully chuckling at my cheesy jokes) and I hope you enjoy posts I share in the future.
