Technology Today
Using technology in the classroom can be very beneficial for students as well as the teacher.
After reading from iintegratetechnology blog I really got inspired. She talks about how her students research is being funded by a grant. According to Mindy Newell,
"Funding supports teachers implementing specific, deep learning projects." Her students team together to research a topic, such as creating less waste while farming. They will use real-world applications in the hopes of finding a cure to this issue. I think this is such a great idea because the students get to participate in real world issues. They can create a GoFund me page to collect donations towards something they want to research and go forward and make it happen. It's amazing how much technology can influence and make a difference in the world.
Another great teaching with technology blog I follow is Technology Tailgate. In this blog they talk about a resource called Flipgrid which is designed for K-12 to promote open discussions between students. The teacher can post links, videos, articles, anything for the class to share information on and the students can respond with writing or even video reactions. It seems as though it can create a nice community in and out of the classroom while making learning fun. It gives everyone a voice and allows for a project that the whole class works on, sort of like each of us in this class creating our blogs and writing comments on them!
Technology can really help in and out of the classroom in many ways. These are just three examples of an infinite amount of possibilities. I hope this broadened your perspective and taught you just another reason why teaching Israeli cool!

Hi, Thanks for the input but it didn't seem to work for me! Maybe because I'm working on an Apple device and it uses different buttons? Not sure but it didn't work unfortunately! Thanks you though! If you have any ideas let me know!
DeleteI decided to follow technology tailgate too and absolutely love the posts! I didn't fully read about the Flipgrid, but it seems like a terrific idea! My 5th graders are partnering with a school in Boston and I think that something like the Flipgrid might make it easier for the students to share information with the Boston students!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for commenting! Glad you enjoyed! That's so interesting thanks for sharing!
